FBI seizes $560,000 in cryptocurrency linked to Hamas

The FBI has seized more than $560,000 in cryptocurrency intended for Hamas, according to the U.S. Department of Justice. The operation targeted the fundraising and recruitment infrastructure used by the Al Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas.

Federal investigators disrupted the group’s digital presence by taking control of associated domains and servers. The investigation, which utilized blockchain analysis from Chainalysis and information from human sources, tracked a network of wallets used to move funds through exchanges and over-the-counter brokers. Some accounts involved were registered to individuals in Turkey and other locations.

The current seizure expands on an earlier action in March 2025, which saw the seizure of approximately $200,000. Investigators identified a ‘gas wallet’ used to pay transaction fees that helped link multiple addresses controlled by the Al Qassam Brigades.
