FBI Thwarts Drone and Shooter Plot Targeting UFC Event Near White House

On June 10, FBI Director Kash Patel announced that a multi‑state operation disrupted a conspiracy to attack the UFC America 250 event scheduled for June 10 in Washington, D.C., near the White House. The alleged plan called for drones loaded with explosives to be flown over the arena, snipers to fire on a fleeing crowd, and a secondary assault on the White House gate.

Investigators say 19 individuals coordinated the plot online, including 19‑year‑old Tycen Proper, who was arrested in Ohio after his mother reported extremist remarks and a cache of firearms. Proper and others were charged with attempted murder and weapons violations. The FBI worked with the Department of Justice, the Secret Service and other law‑enforcement partners; several suspects are now in custody. Patel said, “Thanks to the rapid action of the FBI and our partners, the planned attacks were stopped.”
