Fábio Lopes campaigns for Paraíba state deputy on conservative platform

Fábio Lopes, a city councilman from João Pessoa and candidate for state deputy representing the Liberal Party (PL), is centering his political campaign in Paraíba on Christian values, family defense, and religious freedom.

Lopes has gained attention for his authorship of a proposal for a ‘biblical interval’ in schools, a measure that recently advanced in the João Pessoa City Council after a mayoral veto was overturned. He maintains that the initiative aims to provide space for Christian expression rather than excluding other faiths.

His platform also emphasizes child protection, education, and public safety. Lopes, a law graduate with experience in public and hospital management—having served as director of the Lauro Wanderley University Hospital during the Bolsonaro administration—is campaigning alongside Federal Deputy Cabo Gilberto and has received declared support from the Bolsonaro family in Paraíba.
