Fábio Porchat satirizes Brazilian corruption evolution

Comedian Fábio Porchat released a satirical video reflecting on the evolution of corruption in Brazil. In the monologue, Porchat contrasts historical methods of embezzlement—involving suitcases of cash and physical bribes—with modern techniques, which he refers to as ‘Nutella corruption,’ such as digital fraud via the INSS app and the use of Bitcoin.

Porchat references several prominent historical political figures, including Paulo Maluf, José Sarney, Antônio Carlos Magalhães, and Orestes Quércia, to illustrate how corruption has changed over the decades. He also directs satirical remarks toward the Bolsonaro family, joking about their habit of purchasing real estate with cash, noting that a 2022 survey indicated 51 of the 107 properties traded by the family were acquired partially or fully with physical currency.

The video also touches upon the film ‘Dark Horse,’ a biopic of Jair Bolsonaro that has been subject to investigations regarding its financing, using the subject matter as comedic material.
