FC Argeș has reached the top of the Superliga standings for the first time in 29 years following the fourth round of the season. The team secured the lead after a victory against the defending champions, Universitatea Craiova. Following this performance, coach Bogdan Andone was named the coach of the round by the Professional Football League (LPF).
Player Yanis Pîrvu was also named to the round's ideal team after scoring the decisive goal in the match against Craiova. This marks the first time the Pitești-based club has occupied the top spot at the end of a round since the 1997-1998 season.
In other Romanian football news, U Cluj secured a 7-1 victory in a friendly match against CS Metalurgistul Cugir.
