FC Augsburg loans Elias Saad to Nashville SC for MLS season
German club FC Augsburg has sent 26‑year‑old Tunisian international striker Elias Saad on loan to Major League Soccer side Nashville SC for the upcoming season. Saad, who joined Augsburg from FC St. Pauli last summer, struggled for playing time and previously spent a half‑season on loan at Hannover 96, where he featured in 13 matches and provided three assists. Augsburg did not disclose financial details, but the loan includes an option for Saad to remain with Nashville, who currently lead the MLS Eastern Conference. Saad remains under contract with Augsburg until June 2029. The move is aimed at giving him regular minutes and rebuilding his rhythm after limited opportunities in the Bundesliga. Saad featured in two matches for Tunisia at the 2022 World Cup, playing against Sweden and Japan before being an unused substitute against the Netherlands.
