FC Barcelona eyes Slovene Aleksander Sekulić as new head coach

FC Barcelona is in the final stages of selecting a new head coach after terminating its prior contract. Slovenian national team coach Aleksander Sekulić is reported as the leading candidate, having already spoken with club president Joan Laporta and awaiting a decisive call. Sekulić, who has coached teams across Europe and led a club to the ABA league title, is among several names considered, including former Barcelona coach Xavi Pascual.

The club has also extended the contract of sporting director Joël Parra and is exploring possible roster additions, with interest in a 27‑year‑old NBA‑experienced guard who recently played in the NBA development league. Barcelona hopes to resolve both the coaching vacancy and pending player signings soon.
