Ferran Torres transfer saga dominates Barcelona's summer market

Barcelona’s summer activity is centred on the future of striker Ferran Torres. The club says it will only discuss a sale if Torres himself signals a desire to leave, despite ongoing interest from Paris Saint‑Germain, which is reportedly ready to offer a four‑year contract. Torres remains under contract until 2027 and Barcelona has postponed any formal talks until September.

The Catalans have named several contingency plans. If Torres departs, Barcelona will activate a clause to acquire striker Carlos Espí from Levante. A further option is Bundesliga forward Fisnik Asllani, whose €29 million release clause is considered affordable. The club also monitors other targets, including defender Cristian Romero, midfielder Rodri Hernández, and forwards Junior Kroupi and Jorge Salinas.

In parallel, Barcelona completed a permanent signing of Ghanaian winger Abdul Aziz Issah on a two‑year contract to 2028 for the reserve side. The club’s broader transfer agenda reflects a strategy to reinforce both attack and defence while managing a high wage bill after the departure of Robert Lewandowski.
