FC Barcelona faces registration issues for goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic

FC Barcelona is facing challenges regarding the registration of newly signed Croatian goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic due to the club’s current Financial Fair Play position. Although the club has officially announced the signing of the 31-year-old, he has not yet been added to the La Liga squad list, which currently includes Joan Garcia, Wojciech Szczesny, and Eder Aller.

Barcelona intends to finalize the registration during the last stage of the transfer process, contingent on creating sufficient space within the club’s wage bill. While the move was initially intended as a long-term strategic option to eventually replace Szczesny, the club now views Livakovic as necessary depth for the current campaign.

Manager Hansi Flick has addressed the signing, noting that while the club is pleased to have a goalkeeper of Livakovic’s caliber, he is viewed as a future option. Flick indicated that the current hierarchy remains unchanged, with Joan Garcia as the primary choice and Szczesny as the reserve.
