FC Barcelona Femení defeats Atlético de Madrid 4-2

FC Barcelona Femení secured a 4-2 comeback victory against Atlético de Madrid at the Johan Cruyff Stadium during the third matchday of the league. Despite falling behind early to a goal by Allegra Poljak, Barcelona responded with goals from Vicky López and Graham Hansen to equalize.

Esmee Brugts secured the win with a brace, scoring in the 64th minute and again shortly after to seal the result. Atlético de Madrid managed to briefly regain the lead through a goal by Jensen, but Barcelona's offensive pressure ultimately overwhelmed the visitors.

The victory comes amidst significant defensive challenges for Barcelona. The squad is dealing with several absences, including Laia Aleixandri, Aïcha Camara, Carla Julià, and Julia Torres, who are away for the U-20 World Cup. Additionally, Renee van Asten is expected to be sidelined for three weeks due to a myofascial injury, and Irene Paredes is estimated to be out for two weeks with a muscle injury. To compensate, Pere Romeu adjusted the lineup, utilizing Sydney Schertenleib at right-back and Patri Guijarro in a central defensive role alongside Martina Fernández.
