FC Barcelona kicks off pre‑season under Hansi Flick with focus on Jofre Torrents

FC Barcelona began its 2026/27 pre‑season at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, conducting a second consecutive training session under new head coach Hansi Flick. All available first‑team players and several academy prospects took part in a double‑session programme designed by Flick.

Academy left‑back Jofre Torrents arrived a week ahead of schedule, having cut a short holiday to maximise his preparation. He returned in peak physical condition after recovering from a syndesmosis ankle injury, aiming to impress Flick and secure a role with the first team or a loan move. The club’s medical staff confirmed he has reached his ideal playing weight and improved his body composition. Interest in Torrents has been reported from clubs in Germany, the Netherlands, Portugal, France, Belgium and Spain, though Barcelona say no immediate decision is required.

Flick will evaluate Torrents and other young prospects during the coming weeks to determine their next steps within the squad.
