FC Barcelona monitors Hamza Abdelkarim's international debut with Egypt

FC Barcelona is closely monitoring its 18-year-old striker, Hamza Abdelkarim, following his recent international appearance with the Egyptian national team. The Spanish club expressed interest in his progress by documenting his second-half substitution during Egypt’s scoreless draw against Angola in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Despite celebrating his international debut, Barcelona reportedly harbors concerns regarding his upcoming match against South Sudan. The club is wary of potential injury risks associated with the match being played on an artificial turf pitch. To protect its asset, Barcelona has secured the player with a new contract running until June 2030 and has significantly increased his release clause from 15 million euros to 150 million euros.

The club’s management is pursuing a gradual development plan for Abdelkarim, aiming to provide him with 10 to 15 appearances this season to facilitate his integration into the first team under manager Hansi Flick. While loan offers may arise during the January transfer window, the club currently intends to keep the player as part of its long-term talent strategy.
