FC Barcelona negotiates transfer for Twente defender Ruud Nijstad

FC Barcelona is in negotiations with FC Twente to sign 18-year-old defender Ruud Nijstad. While Barcelona has expressed strong interest in the young center-back as a long-term investment, a deal has not yet been finalized.

Reports indicate a gap in valuation between the two clubs. FC Twente is seeking €10 million for the player, whereas Barcelona has reportedly offered €8 million. Sporting director Deco is attempting to reach a compromise before the transfer window closes, though the club maintains it does not intend to overpay for the player given his limited experience.

Nijstad, who has recently been a regular starter for Twente and has participated in Conference League preliminary rounds, is said to be keen on the move to Camp Nou. Barcelona views the signing as a strategic addition for the future rather than an immediate necessity for Hansi Flick’s first team.
