Barcelona President Laporta confirms Raphinha will stay, eyes Julian Álvarez and signs Ecuadorian left‑back
President Joan Laporta, speaking in Dallas, said Raphinha is a "puntal" for FC Barcelona and that the club has no intention of selling the Brazilian winger despite interest from abroad. He added that recent signings Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi strengthen the attack but will not replace Raphinha.
Barcelona is also working on financing to acquire Argentine striker Julián Álvarez. The club reportedly plans an "unexpected financing" route, potentially involving the sale of Spanish forward Ferran Torres, after rejecting a €150 million offer from Real Madrid and facing a €500 million release clause.
Separately, Barcelona B completed the loan of 18‑year‑old Ecuadorian left‑back Josué Caicedo from Liga de Quito, with an option to buy for about €2.5 million. The club highlighted his offensive abilities, speed and versatility as reasons for the signing.
