FC Barcelona plots summer squad overhaul as key players depart and transfer offers emerge

FC Barcelona is preparing its pre‑season training starting on 13 July, including a week‑long camp in England with two friendly matches. Young right‑back Héctor Fort, returning from a loan at Elche, aims to convince new coach Hansi Flick that he deserves a permanent place in the first‑team squad.

The club has confirmed several departures: Robert Lewandowski’s contract has ended, while Iñaki Peña and Ansu Fati will leave after their loan spells. Marc‑André ter Stegen is expected to return to Ajax on loan. Barcelona’s priority now is to sell midfielder Marc Casadó, whose market value has stalled. Saudi clubs have reportedly offered €15 million plus €5 million in variables, but the club has stated it will not accept “less than €30 million” for the player.

These moves are part of Barcelona’s broader effort to reshape its roster ahead of the new season under Flick’s guidance.
