FC Basel has announced that its upcoming preseason friendly against FC Barcelona is sold out following an unprecedented surge in demand. The massive interest initially overwhelmed the club’s digital ticketing servers, forcing a temporary halt to public sales after hundreds of millions of clicks were recorded.

When sales resumed on Tuesday, the remaining ticket inventory was exhausted in less than an hour. Reports indicate that over 100,000 people entered the digital waiting room. This high demand has led to frustration among fans who faced long wait times, as well as concerns regarding tickets being resold on secondary platforms at significantly inflated prices.
