FC Barcelona promotes Brian Fariñas to first-team squad
FC Barcelona has officially registered 20-year-old midfielder Brian Fariñas as a member of the first-team squad. The decision follows an intervention by manager Hansi Flick, who reportedly blocked a potential transfer to Girona to keep the La Masia graduate at the club.
Fariñas, who joined the Barcelona academy from Villarreal in 2018, has been assigned the number 4 jersey. Reports indicate that Flick was impressed by the player's performances during summer training sessions. Additionally, the club has integrated another youth player, Espart, into the first team with the number 12 shirt.
