FC Barcelona pursues multiple transfer targets as PSG drops Julian Alvarez

Paris Saint‑Germain have officially closed the file on Argentine striker Julian Alvarez after the player made clear he only wants to join FC Barcelona. Reports say PSG, Arsenal and other clubs had been negotiating, but Alvarez’s demand for a move to the Catalan side ended the pursuit.

Barcelona remain active in the market. The club continues to monitor England’s Marcus Rashford, whose contract with Manchester United includes a €47.5 million release clause that does not apply to Liverpool or Manchester City. At the same time, Barcelona have opened talks with 19‑year‑old Spanish prospect Jan Virgili, whose €12 million clause could be reduced to around €7.5 million thanks to retained economic rights from his 2025 departure.

Both transfer windows involve clubs from France, Spain, Argentina and England, highlighting Barcelona’s broad scouting and the continued interest in high‑profile forwards across Europe.
