The match is the penultimate fixture before the new campaign, following training camps in England, a three‑team tournament in Italy, and preceding the Joan Gamper Trophy against Al Ahly at the Spotify Camp Nou.

Negotiations between Barcelona and the Tangier football federation are in the final stage. A spokesperson for the federation said, “Only small details remain before the official announcement,” as the club finalises logistical and organisational aspects. The upgraded stadium, recently equipped with a modern roof and new lighting, will serve as a test of its readiness ahead of upcoming continental events in Morocco.
