FC Barcelona seeks 510 million euros for stadium renovation

FC Barcelona is preparing for an Ordinary General Assembly this Saturday to address several critical financial and structural matters. The club recently held an information session for its representative members to discuss the upcoming agenda, which includes the president's report and the financial liquidation for the 2025/26 season.

Key financial data shows the club closed the ordinary exercise with a positive management of 200,000 euros on a turnover of 1.06 billion euros, though it faced an 18 million euro deficit in extraordinary management. For the 2026-27 season, projected revenues are 1.195 billion euros, with a salary cost of 636 million euros, representing 53% of income.

A major focus of the assembly will be the approval of two new financing operations totaling 510 million euros to complete the Espai Barça project and the Spotify Camp Nou renovation. This additional debt is driven by project expansions and cost increases, such as a 40% rise in steel prices due to the war in Ukraine. The funding consists of 300 million euros in private placement notes via the Espai Barça securitization fund and 210 million euros in media notes issued directly by the club to cover current expenses and project delays.
