Jofre Torrents transfers from FC Barcelona to Ajax

FC Barcelona has officially completed the permanent transfer of 19-year-old left-back Jofre Torrents to AFC Ajax. The La Masia academy graduate, who joined Barcelona in 2017, has signed a contract in Amsterdam that runs until June 30, 2030.

While the exact transfer fee was not officially disclosed, reports indicate the deal could involve up to €6 million in fixed fees and variables. As part of the agreement, Barcelona has secured a repurchase option set at €14 million, which can be activated starting in 2028. Additionally, the Spanish club will retain a 50% stake in any future sale of the player.

Torrents, who made his La Liga debut under Hansi Flick against Mallorca in August 2025, moved to Ajax to secure more regular playing time. He will join former teammate Marc-André ter Stegen in the Netherlands and will play under manager Míchel Sánchez.
