Marc Bernal agrees to FC Barcelona contract extension until 2031

FC Barcelona has reached an agreement to extend the contract of midfielder Marc Bernal until 2031. The deal, which adds two years to his existing agreement, aims to secure the La Masia academy product and protect him from interest from other clubs.

Despite the extension, Bernal has faced challenges regarding playing time. Following the arrival of Rodri, the 19-year-old has largely transitioned into a substitute role under manager Hansi Flick, who continues to view him as a fundamental piece for the club's long-term project due to his tactical reading and physical capabilities.

A key component of the new contract is a release clause set at 500 million euros. This figure remains unchanged from his previous agreement, as the club believes it accurately reflects his current value.
