FC Barcelona signs Jesse Bisiwu, names Xevi Pujol technical secretary

After being discharged from hospital following an arrhythmia, FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta appeared at Spotify Camp Nou to formalise the signing of 18‑year‑old Belgian winger Jesse Bisiwu. The player, acquired from Club Brugge for €8.5 million, signed a contract that runs until 30 June 2031 and immediately joined the first‑team training camp in Birmingham under head coach Hansi Flick. Bisiwu said he felt “agradecido” and is ready to work hard to earn a place in the squad.

In a separate announcement, the club appointed former Baskonia and Manresa technical secretary Xevi Pujol as the new director‑sporting (technical secretary) of Barça’s basketball section. Pujol, who signed a three‑year deal, replaces Juan Carlos Navarro, who will become ambassador and mentor. Pujol is known for discovering players such as Sylvain Francisco and Chima Moneke during his tenure in Manresa.
