FC Barcelona hunts striker to replace Lewandowski

Robert Lewandowski left FC Barcelona after his contract expired in June and signed with MLS side Chicago Fire. The club now faces a pressing need for a new centre‑forward. Earlier, Barcelona targeted Argentine Julián Álvarez, but Atlético Madrid has ruled out a sale, forcing the Catalans to explore other options.

Media reports say Barcelona are monitoring Swedish striker Victor Gyökeres, who is linked with Arsenal and could cost around €60 million, and 19‑year‑old French forward Eli Junior Kroupi of Bournemouth, whose release clause is reportedly €100 million. Both players are considered serious alternatives as the club searches for a number 9 capable of filling Lewandowski’s void. Other European clubs, including Arsenal and Paris Saint‑Germain, are also interested in Kroupi, suggesting a competitive market for Barcelona’s next striker.
