FC Barcelona targets Julian Alvarez in potential January transfer move

FC Barcelona is reportedly preparing a significant move for the January transfer window, targeting Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez. According to reports, Barcelona may offer over €80 million plus midfielder Gavi to secure the Argentine forward, despite Gavi’s reported desire to remain at the club.

Separately, the club is facing internal squad management challenges. Alejandro Baldé is reportedly frustrated by a lack of playing time following the arrival of new competition, including João Cancelo and Xavi Espart. Manager Hansi Flick acknowledged Baldé’s disappointment regarding his reduced role but noted that managing player competition and squad changes is a complex aspect of the team's current evolution.
