FC Barcelona targets Natan to replace Ronald Araujo

FC Barcelona has opened negotiations with Real Betis to sign 25-year-old Brazilian defender Natan Souza. The move comes as the Catalan club seeks a replacement for captain Ronald Araujo, who has officially joined Liverpool on loan until June 2027, with a purchase clause of 55 million euros.

Natan, a former Flamengo player, is considered a valuable target due to his profile as a left-footed centre-back. While Barcelona has already secured signings such as Karim Adeyemi and Anthony Gordon, and reached an agreement for Rodri, the club continues to manage its defensive depth following Araujo's departure.

In addition to defensive reinforcements, Barcelona remains active in the market for an attacking player, with interest reported in Atlético de Madrid's Julián Alvarez, though a deal for the Argentine striker remains difficult following a rejected 100 million euro proposal.
