FC Barcelona targets Premier League players for squad reinforcement

FC Barcelona is reportedly considering several options to strengthen its squad, specifically targeting players from the Premier League to address tactical needs and potential departures.

One potential target is Martín Zubimendi, the 27-year-old Spanish international currently at Arsenal. Zubimendi, who joined Arsenal from Real Sociedad in 2025 for approximately 70 million euros, has seen reduced playing time following the arrival of Bruno Guimarães. His ability to organize play and facilitate ball circulation aligns with the tactical requirements of manager Hansi Flick, providing a possible alternative to Frenkie de Jong, who has faced recent injury issues.

Additionally, Barcelona has expressed interest in Manchester City defender Matheus Nunes. The 28-year-old Portuguese international has regained form under Enzo Maresca, prompting interest from European clubs. Barcelona may be looking for defensive reinforcements following rumors regarding the potential departures of Jules Koundé and Ronald Araújo. Nunes is currently under contract with Manchester City until 2028.
