FC Bayern Munich bosses demand basketball titles

FC Bayern Munich leadership has issued a clear mandate for championship success ahead of the new Basketball Bundesliga season. Club President Herbert Hainer stated, “It must be that we become German champions!” He emphasized that other goals, including the BBL Cup and reaching the EuroLeague playoffs, should follow the domestic title.

Honorary President Uli Hoeneß expressed dissatisfaction with the team's mentality following a disappointing previous season, specifically citing a loss to Alba Berlin where a 20-point lead was surrendered. Hoeneß noted that such a performance “is not Bayern Munich” and demanded a change in attitude.

To meet these expectations, the club has implemented significant changes, including the appointments of new head coach Anton Gavel and sports manager Thorsten Leibenath, alongside squad reinforcements.
