FC Bayern Munich installs new privacy system at training grounds

FC Bayern Munich is currently undergoing major renovations at its Säbener Straße training facilities to enhance player privacy and security. A central feature of the construction is a new XXL cable system designed to prevent espionage from rival clubs, media, and fans.

The system utilizes approximately 10-meter-high fence posts equipped with electric winches that raise a large, grey privacy screen via a thick steel tube. This replaces previous methods, such as the roll-up systems used in recent years, which were prone to technical defects. The new installation includes specialized stability posts to ensure the screens remain secure against strong winds.

Coach Vincent Kompany and Sporting Director Christoph Freund have already inspected the progress. The upgrades aim to provide a more isolated training environment and to align the quality and playing surface of the training grounds more closely with the conditions at the Allianz Arena. Construction is expected to be completed by the end of January.
