Bayern Munich Gives Tom Bischof No. 8, Prepares Luis Díaz Return for 2026‑27 Season

Bayern Munich confirmed that 21‑year‑old midfielder Tom Bischof will wear the iconic number 8 jersey for the 2026‑27 campaign, taking over from Leon Goretzka after his departure. Bischof said he waited out of respect for his teammate Aleksandar Pavlović before requesting the number, describing the change as a “big step” in his career.

The club also announced that Colombian forward Luis Díaz will rejoin the squad before the end of July to begin preseason training. Díaz will feature in Bayern’s new second kit, modeled after his appearance, with the first friendly scheduled for 25 July against SV Wehen Wiesbaden and further matches against RB Leipzig, Jeju United and Aston Villa as part of the pre‑season program.
