Bayern Munich ramps up transfer activity with contract extensions and several high‑profile targets

FC Bayern Munich is close to finalising a new contract with Austrian midfielder Konrad Laimer, with both sides described as “very far” in negotiations. The club has also offered a contract extension to 20‑year‑old midfielder Arijon Ibrahimović, aiming to keep him as a squad rotation player.

Bayern’s scouting list this summer includes a range of attackers and defenders: the Belgian forward Matías Fernández‑Pardo (OSC Lille), Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli, Atalanta centre‑back Honest Ahanor, PSV Eindhoven full‑back Sergino Dest, PSV striker Ismael Saibari, Barcelona winger Marcus Rashford, Benfica defender Tomás Araújo, and Hertha’s 16‑year‑old prospect Kennet Eichhorn. The club is also monitoring Portugal international Tomás Araújo and has been linked with England’s Nathaniel Brown, though a move may be hindered by a high transfer fee.

Other German Bundesliga clubs, including Borussia Dortmund, are competing for several of the same targets, notably Fernández‑Pardo. Bayern’s pursuit reflects a broader strategy to strengthen the squad ahead of the 2026 season while securing key existing players.
