FC Chieșd begins regional Cupa României campaign

FC Chieșd, the county winner of the 2026 Romanian Cup, will play its first match of the regional phase on 8 July at 18:00 in Viișoara, facing Viitorul Viișoara, the team representing Cluj County. Forward Ciprian Pavel said the squad is confident and aims to secure three points to advance further in the competition.

The club is placed in Group 1 of Region 2 alongside Viitorul Viișoara and Talna Orașul Nou (Satu Mare County). After the opening match, Talna Orașul Nou will meet Viitorul Viișoara on 11 July, and FC Chieșd will play Talna Orașul Nou on 15 July. The winner of Group 1 will face the Group 2 winner (Minerul Rodna, Avântul Bârsana or Club Atletic Oradea) in the Region 2 final.
