FC Copenhagen boss addresses fan frustration over lack of transfers

Kristjaan Speakman, the sporting director of FC Copenhagen, said he understands the anger of supporters who expected a major overhaul after the club’s historically poor performance last season. So far only two players – defender Felix Beijmo and midfielder Alex Kral – have joined on free transfers, while several key figures have departed, including centre‑back Mathias “Zanka” Jørgensen, winger Viktor Claesson, forward Elias Achouri, defender Pantelis Hatzidiakos and striker Jordan Larsson, who is moving to a Saudi club.

Speakman noted that the timing of the transfer window is difficult, with the team already two matches into the season while rivals are only beginning their preparations. He emphasized the club’s ambition to improve the squad but cautioned that measurable progress will only be seen when new signings meet fans’ expectations.
