FC Emmen signs experienced goalkeeper Kelle Roos

FC Emmen has signed 34-year-old goalkeeper Kelle Roos on a contract running until the end of next season. Roos joined the club as a free agent after training with the squad recently.

The move addresses a shortage in the goalkeeper position following a long-term Achilles tendon injury to Dirk Baron on September 10. Roos, who has extensive experience playing professionally in England and Scotland, will provide competition for current goalkeeper Sam Karssies.

Director of Football Affairs Ernst Söllner stated that Roos was brought in to foster competition between the goalkeepers and to assist in the development of the club's younger keepers. Roos reportedly required a guarantee of being a primary option to finalize the agreement. He is expected to be included in the match selection for the upcoming fixture against FC Dordrecht.
