FC Famalicão schedules eight pre‑season matches, including Italian Como Cup games

FC Famalicão has released its pre‑season programme for the 2026/27 campaign, featuring eight friendly matches between 11 July and 28 July. The Portuguese side will face domestic opponents – the club’s U‑23 squad, Lusitânia Lourosa, Penafiel, Arouca, Felgueiras and newly‑promoted Tondela – before concluding with two high‑profile fixtures against England’s Crystal Palace and France’s RC Lens. The latter two games are part of the Como Cup, a four‑team tournament held in Italy that also includes Como 1907, Villarreal and Al Ula.

Club president Miguel Ribeiro, speaking in a recent interview, reaffirmed the aim of stabilising Famalicão as Portugal’s fifth‑largest club and highlighted ongoing stadium redevelopment issues. He noted that retaining key players and achieving a top‑five league finish remain priorities, while also expressing confidence that the pre‑season schedule will aid the team’s preparation for domestic and potential European competition.
