FC Famalicão U23 launch Liga Next Gen campaign

FC Famalicão's under‑23 side opened the 2026‑27 Liga Next Gen (formerly Liga Revelação) with a home match against Torreense. The national U23 league now features 20 teams in a single division, each playing 16 games in the first phase; the top eight advance to the championship play‑off, while the others contest the Next Gen Cup. Coach Marco Alves expressed pride in representing the club, stressing the goal of developing players for the senior squad and aiming to compete for victories. Forward Jonas, a Famalicão player since 2020, reiterated his commitment to the club’s legacy.

In the same weekend, the draw for the 2026‑27 Liga 3 was held in Oeiras. Lusitano de Évora will begin its campaign at home against Atlético CP. The competition retains its two‑series format of ten clubs each, with the top four moving to the promotion phase and the remaining six fighting to avoid relegation. The schedule also lists Lusitano’s second‑round away fixture at Caldas da Rainha and other opponents across the season.
