FC Groningen to sign Swedish winger Jacob Ondrejka on loan

FC Groningen is set to strengthen its squad by acquiring Swedish winger Jacob Ondrejka on loan from the Italian club Parma FC. The 23-year-old, who is right-footed but primarily plays as a left winger, joins the club without an option to buy.

Ondrejka previously moved to Parma in early 2025 for a fee reported to be around seven million euros after a successful stint with Royal Antwerp FC in Belgium, where he recorded 12 goals and 8 assists in 55 matches. His time in Serie A has seen him score five goals in 29 appearances, though recent injury struggles have facilitated this loan move.

The Swedish international, who has earned one cap for his country, arrives at Groningen to provide creative options following the departure of Younes Taha. His arrival marks another significant addition to Groningen’s active transfer window, joining several other recent signings including Pelle Clement, Rijk Janse, and Malcolm Jeng.
