FC Ingolstadt and Rot‑Weiss Essen start preseason camps with friendlies
FC Ingolstadt 04, the German third‑division side, has begun its season‑preparation camp in Latsch, South Tyrol, running from 11 July to 19 July. The club will stage a test match against a Vinschgau selection on 14 July and a second friendly against Serie B club Palermo on 18 July. The camp follows previous years in the region and is intended to sharpen the squad for the upcoming 3. Liga campaign, with head coach Sabrina Wittmann – the first woman to lead a German men’s professional team – remaining in charge.
Rot‑Weiss Essen, also a 3. Liga club, departed for a summer training camp in Bad Griesbach, Bavaria. The camp culminates with a friendly against Austrian Bundesliga side SV Ried on Friday, after a home city‑derby against ETB Schwarz‑Weiß on Saturday at the Uhlenkrug stadium, where several new signings – including Max Geschwill, Noah Pesch and others – made their debut for the club.
Both clubs are using the camps to integrate new players and refine tactics ahead of the German league season that starts on 7 August.
