FC Nantes president Waldemar Kita confirms club sale offers

Waldemar Kita, the president and owner of FC Nantes, has confirmed that he has received three formal proposals to purchase the club. While the existence of these offers is now official, Kita stated that none of the current bids provide the necessary guarantees to move forward with a sale.

Reflecting on his nearly 20-year tenure, Kita expressed a sense of personal failure regarding the club's recent performance and its current status in Ligue 2. He admitted that he may no longer be the right person to lead the organization, noting, “Maybe I am not made for this.”

Although Kita is open to discussions and intends to facilitate a smooth transition if a suitable buyer is found, he emphasized that no deal is imminent. He stressed that any potential successor must present a solid project and the financial means to ensure the long-term stability of the club.
