FC Nantes signs Patrik Carlgren amid goalkeeper uncertainty

FC Nantes is navigating a goalkeeper crisis following a serious knee injury to Alexis Mirbach, which is expected to sideline him for at least three months. The club's management and coaching staff have expressed dissatisfaction with the performances of current starter Maxime Dupé, leading to active searches for new talent.

Initial attempts to recruit Red Star goalkeeper Gaëtan Poussin failed after his club refused to authorize the transfer. While the club also explored options involving Obed Nkambadio from Paris FC, they have ultimately secured the return of 34-year-old Swedish goalkeeper Patrik Carlgren.

Despite the search for a new number one, Carlgren is expected to serve as a backup. Consequently, Maxime Dupé is likely to retain his starting position for the time being, provided there are no further internal shifts.
