FC Platinum appoints former Kaizer Chiefs star Reneilwe Letsholonyane as assistant coach

FC Platinum announced the appointment of former South African international Reneilwe Letsholonyane as assistant coach. He will work alongside newly hired head coach Thabo Senong, both of whom arrived in Zimbabwe to finalize contracts and await work permits. The duo replace Joel Luphahla, who departed after a string of poor results that left the club mid‑table.

Letsholonyane, long‑time Kaizer Chiefs midfielder with over 50 caps for Bafana Bafana and a 2010 World Cup appearance, retired in 2021 and began coaching in South Africa before moving to Botswana’s Matebele FC, which he left last month. Senong previously held a brief spell with Highlanders earlier in the year. FC Platinum, currently 10th after 25 league matches, hopes the experienced pair can revive its campaign in the final nine games of the season.
