FC Porto negotiations for Rodrigo Mora hit impasse with Roma

Negotiations between FC Porto and AS Roma for the transfer of Rodrigo Mora have reached an impasse. FC Porto is demanding a total financial package of approximately €50 million. Their proposed structure involves a loan with a €10 million fee and a €40 million purchase option. Crucially, Porto insists that this option must become mandatory upon the fulfillment of easily achievable objectives, such as Champions League qualification, rather than difficult milestones like winning the Serie A.

While Roma has been silent following the breakdown in talks, Galatasaray has re-entered the race for the player. The Turkish club is reportedly in contact with agent Jorge Mendes to explore a deal that could make Mora one of the most expensive signings in Galatasaray's history.

FC Porto intends to use the proceeds from a potential sale to fund three new signings: a central midfielder, a left-back, and a forward. The club's leadership, including André Villas-Boas, remains firm on the €50 million valuation to ensure the necessary funds for squad reinforcement.
