FC Porto and Sporting compete for Champions League revenue
FC Porto and Sporting CP are entering a close competition for UEFA Champions League revenue. Both Portuguese clubs are set to receive approximately 43 million euros in guaranteed income as they begin the tournament, with FC Porto currently leading Sporting by a margin of only 103,000 euros.
In club news, FC Porto goalkeeper Diogo Costa expressed his happiness at the club following the transfer window. The 26-year-old, who has a contract until June 2030 and a 60 million euro release clause, stated that while he understands the unpredictability of a football career, he would be “extremely happy” to spend his entire career at his formative club.
