FC Porto clinches Portuguese Super Cup in Hwang In-beom’s debut

FC Porto secured a 1‑0 victory over second‑division side SC Torreense to win the 2024 Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira, their 25th Portuguese Super Cup title. The lone goal came in the 38th minute when Viktor Proholt headed in a cross from Pepe.

South Korean midfielder Hwang In‑beom made his official debut for the Portuguese champions twelve days after joining from Feyenoord. He entered the match in the 73rd minute, completed all five of his passes, recorded a shot on target and provided a key pass that set up the winning goal. The win marked Hwang’s fourth European trophy.

Porto’s manager Francesco Farioli praised the performance, noting the team’s dominance in the first half and the importance of the early goal before halftime. The victory opens the new season for Porto in the Primeira Liga.
