FC Porto defeats Deportivo La Coruña 3-1 in friendly match

FC Porto secured a 3-1 comeback victory against Deportivo La Coruña in a friendly match held at the Estadio Municipal de Riazor. Despite conceding an early goal in the third minute to Asp Janssen, the Portuguese side turned the game around in the second half.

Borja Sainz equalized in the 60th minute following an assist from Pepê, and André Silva scored twice—once in the 64th minute and again in the 90th minute—to seal the win. The match served as a testing ground for FC Porto, who faced 18 absences due to international duty, allowing for the integration of new signings like defender Chris Smalling and the return of striker Samu Omorodion following a long-term injury.

Club leadership noted that Smalling’s arrival was a specific tactical request rather than a response to injury concerns. Additionally, the club highlighted Samu’s high motivation and goal-scoring hunger as he continues his recovery and reintegration into the squad.
