FC Porto and SC Braga secure dominant victories in Liga Portugal

FC Porto continued their historic start to the Liga Portugal season with a 4-0 victory over Estoril. The win marks the club’s tenth consecutive league victory, a feat not achieved by the team since the 1939/40 season. Polish defenders Jan Bednarek and Jakub Kiwior both started the match, with Bednarek receiving praise for alerting officials to a medical emergency involving a supporter in the stands.

In another notable result, SC Braga defeated Famalicão 3-0 to break a four-game winless streak in the league. Goals from Ricardo Horta, an own goal by Victor Rofino, and Pau Victor secured the win. The match also saw Famalicão’s Rodrigo Pinheiro receive a red card in the 70th minute.

Additionally, in handball, FC Porto secured a victory against Sporting in a classic matchup, with coach Carlos Martingo highlighting the team’s defensive performance and commitment.
