FC Porto reports 21.1 million euro loss for 2025/26 fiscal year
FC Porto SAD has reported a consolidated loss of 21.1 million euros for the 2025/26 fiscal year, a significant shift from the 41 million euro profit recorded in the previous period. President André Villas-Boas attributed the deficit to heavy investment in the squad and the absence of Champions League revenue. He noted that if the sale of Rodrigo Mora to Roma had been finalized before June 30, the club would have likely achieved a positive result.
Financial reports also highlight a 33.8% surge in salaries for players and technical staff, totaling 70.9 million euros. Despite the loss, the club maintains a positive transfer balance, having generated 340 million euros in sales against 202 million euros in purchases over the last three windows. Additionally, the club's performance has triggered various clauses; for instance, Victor Froholdt's success at Porto has triggered a 1 million euro bonus payment to F.C. København.
Regarding infrastructure, the club is moving forward with a 30 million euro investment in Estádio do Dragão. This project, in partnership with Ithaka, includes increasing stadium capacity, optimizing corporate areas, and replacing the stadium roof and lighting systems.
