FC Porto players Santiago Gimenez and Andre Silva highlight club developments

Santiago Gimenez is seeking to revitalize his career during his loan spell at FC Porto. After joining AC Milan from Feyenoord in January 2025, the Mexican striker struggled to maintain his initial impact, recording 7 goals and 6 assists in 37 appearances under managers Conceição and Allegri.

Recently, Gimenez delivered a decisive performance against Napoli in the final round of the Champions League. FC Porto coach Farioli praised the player, noting that Gimenez played 90 minutes and performed well as part of a strategy to provide playing time to players who arrived late in the season.

Meanwhile, Andre Silva has returned to FC Porto after stints in Italy, Spain, and Germany. To rejoin the club that launched his professional career, the Portuguese striker accepted a salary reduction of over 30% compared to his previous contract at Elche. His new fixed annual salary is approximately 2.8 million euros, down from nearly 4 million euros. Silva, now 31, joins Porto following a season in which he scored 10 goals in 32 appearances.
