PSV Eindhoven defeats FC Porto 1-0 in Champions League
PSV Eindhoven secured a 1-0 victory against FC Porto at the Estádio do Dragão during the third matchday of the UEFA Champions League league phase. The decisive goal was scored by Guus Til in the 57th minute following an assist from Sven Mijnans, after a significant involvement by Esmir Bajraktarević, who hit the post earlier in the match.
The loss marks FC Porto's third consecutive defeat in the Champions League, leaving them at the bottom of the table with zero points. In contrast, the win moves PSV Eindhoven up to 16th place with four points. Porto defender Jan Bednarek noted that the team struggled with energy and failed to be proactive, despite controlling parts of the second half.
PSV manager Peter Bosz faced selection challenges due to injuries, including Ruben van Bommel, but managed to secure the away win. For Porto, the result complicates their path toward the play-off stages.
