FC Porto signs Gabriel Mec from Grêmio for 11 million euros
FC Porto has officially completed the permanent transfer of 18-year-old Brazilian winger Gabriel Mec from Grêmio. The deal includes a fixed fee of 11 million euros, with the potential for an additional 1 million euros in variable payments based on specific objectives.
Under the terms of the agreement, Grêmio will retain 12% of any future capital gains from a subsequent transfer. Mec has signed a five-year contract that runs until June 30, 2031, and includes a release clause set at 80 million euros. Grêmio will handle the solidarity mechanism payments to third-party clubs, while FC Porto will cover intermediation costs.
Mec, who previously played for Grêmio's youth and senior teams, is expected to earn approximately 600,000 euros per year. He is noted for his ability to play as both an attacking midfielder and on either wing.
